Since our foundation in 2000 in Milan, Italy, Winetip has developed an extensive cellar. We are one of the main Italian Wine Merchants. Our cellar currently holds more than 3,000 labels and approximately 80.000 bottles. These include the most sought after wines in the market and those which are considered “extremely rare.".
WineTip specializes in the best vintages of some of the most sought after producers and has a unique skill in finding old, rare, Italian wines. For example, we always have in stock over twenty different vintages of Masseto, Sassicaia and Gaja. All of our wines are stored in a temperature and humidity controlled warehouse.
We continually search for the best wines, visit foreign and Italian producers and organize weekly wine tastings. Our market knowledge is unbeatable and our staff have an in-depth overview of the wine market.
Our attention to detail and professionalism has gained us an excellent reputation. This allows us to serve clients in over 40 countries worldwide and first class restaurants throughout Italy.
Our cellar holds mainly French and Italian labels. Our wine list consists of wines from all over the world but we specialize in the best wines from Piedmont, Tuscany, Bourgogne, Bordeaux and Champagne.
WineTip offers its wines and experience to:
- Private clients: collectors, wine lovers and “investors”
- Businesses: for corporate gifts and events.
- Restaurateurs: by expanding and giving depth to their wine lists.
- Wine Merchants: by finding rare wines, offering competitive prices and responding in a swift and professional manner.
Sourcing- Where our wines comes from
The majority of the wines in our catalog have been purchased directly from the producers or their official distributors/importers.
Older vintages however, arrive mainly from the cellars of private collectors or restaurants. This is thanks to our excellent reputation and market contacts.
We are very careful in what we buy for our cellar. When buying from a private cellar, we check the conservation, we examine the bottles, we taste samples and check the reputation of the seller.
If we are unsure of any one of these aspects, then we do not purchase the wine.
Conservation
Our wine is stored in 2 temperature and humidity controlled warehouses. Younger vintages and cases are stored in an external warehouse close to Milan.
In our headquarters in Via Morbelli 7, we store the older vintages but we always have a minimum stock of our wines in distribution.
Clients may visit our cellar upon appointment.
